The City of Maquoketa is taking applications for board and commission vacancies, please consult the list below.

The application process is an effort to ensure diverse representation of our community.Applications may be picked up and submitted at Maquoketa City Hall, 201 E. Pleasant Street. Please have applications turned into City Hall by Wednesday December 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. For more information please contact City Hall at 563-652-2484.

Maggi Muhlhausen joined the administrative staff at City Hall, her position is Secretary.


Platt Street Project Open House

An open house will be held at City hall on Monday, October 28 from 4:30 to 6:00 to provide the public with updates about the project and to get feedback is well.


2019 LEAF PICK-UP DATES

Schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions such as high winds and heavy rains.

Don’t be alarmed if you see the equipment out before your half of town is scheduled.  Your street will get done on the scheduled days.

East half of town:   NOVEMBER 12 THRU NOVEMBER 15

West half of town:  NOVEMBER 18 THRU NOVEMBER 26

Platt/Main Street:    NOVEMBER 27

THIS IS A FREE CITY SERVICE

PUBLIC WORKS IS ASKING FOR YOUR COOPERATION BY FOLLOWING THE RULES BELOW.

  1. Do not place leaves out earlier than the day before your 1st pickup day.
  2. Please place leaves in the street one foot from the curb, in the gutter line.
  3. Windrows only. Large piles are difficult to pick up.
  4. Don’t park your car close to the leaf windrow.
  5. Leaves only. NO WOOD LIMBS, BAGS OR OTHER YARD WASTE

NO LEAVES WILL BE PICKED UP AFTER NOVEMBER 27th.

The City of Maquoketa has a full-time opening for a Confidential Secretary.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, good communication skills, good computer skills, work well with others and be able to balance cash received.  Applicants must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.  Salary DOQ.  Equal Opportunity Employer. A copy of the City of Maquoketa’s consumer confidence report regarding water quality is available at City Hall, the Maquoketa Public Library, the Maquoketa Police Station, the YMCA, the hospital and on the City’s website.  You can find a link for it on this website on the City Departments page under Water/Wastewater.

CONSUMER PORTAL

As part of the new metering system that was installed, the City of Maquoketa and MMEU are now able to offer our customers access to a consumer portal.

The consumer portal is a place where customers can access their water and electric accounts and history through a web based portal. Customers will be able to review their consumption, utility bill costs and set and track a budget for utility costs. Additionally, customers will be able to set their account up so they get email alerts when they exceed their budget, a certain amount of usage or when a small or large leak is detected.
